Volunteer opportunities

Below is a list of the positions that we need to fill for the Booster Organization.  Let the Board know if you are interested in chairing or assisting with any of these committees.

Committees with Description

Banquet/Social

  • The Banquet Committee shall make all arrangements for the Slow Pitch Banquet and Senior Awards.
  • The Social Committee shall assist in and initiate social activities.

 Bylaws

  • This committee chairperson shall review the bylaws of the Bethel Park Slow Pitch Assn Boosters as often as necessary or whenever the membership shall question or ask for change as outlined in Article 9, Section 1. 
  • They shall then prepare and/or read submitted proposed amendments or changes to existing bylaws at the next executive board meeting to determine if the amendment should be presented at the following regular business meeting of the Slow Pitch Assn Boosters and again at the next regular business meeting at which time, the proposed changes shall be voted on (approval by two-thirds of eligible voting members).

Clinics/Coaching Nominations

  • This committee chairperson shall work with the coaches to search out Slow Pitch Clinics for the girls to attend.
  • This committee will also work with the girls to provide a client during the summer to younger girls.  (Identify the skills, drills, and instructional games that the girls can provide to the younger players.)
    This committee will also work to provide a list of Coaches with references for the Fall Season - 2010.

Community Service

  • This committee chairperson shall identify a community service each year that the girls can work with and once approved by the executive board, will work with the girls to set up activities.
  • Chairperson will provide girls with documentation regarding volunteer hours worked.
  • The committee will request volunteers of the Booster Association, as needed.

Equipment

  • The Equipment Committee will work with the coaches to pass out any Booster Owned equipment at the beginning of the year.
  • Work with the teams to collect the equipment and store it at the end of the year.

Finance and Audit

The Finance and Audit Committee will prepare the annual budget.

  • The will audit the books at least one times during the year and also at the close of the Treasurer?s term of office.
  • This committee shall develop and submit a proposal to the Executive Board each year for adequate and continuous coverage for the organization and all of its activities.
  • This committee shall maintain an inventory list of all BPSPABooster equipment, and perform an inventory yearly to confirm the existence and location of items listed.

Membership

  • It is the responsibility of the Membership Chairperson to update and distribute the Membership application forms after the Executive Board approval of the form and dues. 
  • Upon receipt of the completed forms and dues, the Membership Chairperson will submit the dues to the Treasurer using the approved deposit process. 
  • The Membership Chairperson is also responsible to develop and maintain the membership list.  The updated list is to be made available to the Coaches and the President as requested.
  • The Membership Committee chairperson and the Executive Board shall be the final judges as to eligibility of all voters and shall distribute ballots accordingly to only those members if a paper ballot is required.
  • The committee may also act as a consultant to the Webmaster, as necessary, and be the technical contact for the website domain registration.

Publicity/Yearbook

  • The Publicity Committee shall prepare items of general interest for publication and attend to the advertising needs of the slow Pitch Boosters.
  • The Yearbook Committee is responsible for organizing, assembling, and submitting pictures or setting up a photographic record of the Slow Pitch activities.
  • Provide pictures for the website.
  • The Chairperson shall act as the Historian of the organization.

 Technology/Website

  • The Communications Committee shall be responsible for creating and maintaining a website that parents and students can access to see updated information ? scores, tryout dates, schedules, and upcoming activities. 
  • The Technology Committee is responsible for maintaining the master roster database.

Ways and Means/Fundraising

  • The Ways and Means Committee shall devise and execute plans for financing activities of the organization. Any method of raising money must be approved by the Executive Board and Galietta.Mike@bpsd.org at the Bethel Park High School.
  • The Committee shall be responsible for organizing and operating any sales.
